About us

Bread & freshness

In the spring of 2016, we opened our first bakery in the buried house at Frakkastíg 16, and the reception was absolutely amazing.

In the first months, we had to close way too early, day after day, because everything was torn from the shelves. But of course we want everyone to get their bread and we opened five more bakeries, so there's absolutely no need to panic. There is enough. Steaming fresh sourdough bread, croissants in a special category, sickly good rolls and all kinds of goodies.

OUR GOALS

Bread & honesty

We immediately decided to offer only freshly baked sourdough bread and other baked goods made from specially selected organically grown high-quality ingredients.

You can always watch us bakers kneading and stirring and even ask us about the methods and ingredients because the baking takes place in front of our doors.

But this is an artisanal bakery and there is always the possibility of mistakes, but we are not ashamed of them, we learn from them. We don't hate experimenting and testing ourselves to perfect the selection and find exciting innovations. We value quality more than presentation and love simplicity but do not tolerate pretentiousness.

We are an honest bakery and that is why we have come this far.

OUR INGRIDIENTS

Bread & precision

We are extremely thorough when it comes to the selection of raw materials for our baking, and we strongly emphasise using only the highest quality materials. We always use organic ingredients in our breads and pastry, because we know that it guarantees a much better taste, and believe that our customers can feel the difference.

We use four types of organic flour, Öland and Einkorn from Denmark and Manitoba and 00 from Italy. All the grains, seeds or sugars we use are also organic and mostly imported from Denmark and Germany. And last but not least, we can proudly state that we only use Icelandic butter and sea salt, which really make all the difference.
